I just can't seem to FINISH my report. And it is due Monday!!!! Too many distractions at the office (Internet, for one!) It looks like I have to work on it this weekend so I can concentrate *sigh*. On the meantime, LJ finally delivers all those email notifications again. So I can comment on your replies. I think this happened with almost everyone, huh?

Finished a couple of short stories by Jim Butcher. Man, I love his stories (Harry Dresden!). I can't wait to get my hand on paperback edition of book #11. AND I also just read the summary for book #12 that made my jaw DROPPED! After this, I might get back to a PNR from Kelly Meding. This one is rec'd by Jeaniene Frost herself, so I'm curious.

Gosh, Glee is tonight (for me). I have about 8 hours before I return to my boarding house and watch the fall finale. Then 4 MONTHS break. I will probably have a withdrawal :(. By the way, I DID say goodbye to House M.D. after the 9th episode. BUT, I just read news that Hugh Laurie himself will direct two episodes in January. DARN! I might go back to the show only to watch those two episodes.

Signing off.

8. Glee
By JAMES PONIEWOZIK Tuesday, Dec. 08, 2009

Consistency is overrated. This musical-comedy-drama about a misfit high school show choir in Lima, Ohio, succeeds where Viva Laughlin and other small-screen musicals have failed, but it also shows the genre's challenges. Some of its story lines (especially the fake pregnancy of the choir director's wife) are distractingly implausible. But when Glee works — which is often — it is transcendent, tear-jerking and thrilling like nothing else on TV. It takes a gay kid, minority kids, jocks and nerds and explodes their stereotypes, channeling high school's heightened emotions through joyous pop music. It can be a mess, but it's what great TV should be: reckless, ambitious, heart-on-its-sleeve and, thanks especially to Jane Lynch as drill-sergeant cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, gaspingly funny. When it hits its high notes, nothing else matters.

ETA: The pilot is #2 on the list of Top 10 TV Episodes. (Thanks to [info]whazzupp8 for pointing it out.)

2. Glee, "Pilot"
Watching this new musical explode onto the TV screen was like biting into the juicy center of an explosive sweet-tart candy. Satirical and completely earnest at the same time, this jubilant pilot took elements from many TV hits (American Idol, High School Musical, various high school dramedies) and turned them into something like nothing else on TV. Glee would deepen over the season (and make some missteps), but all the parts were here at the beginning: the emotion, the cutting humor, the message that there's power in being a misfit. And above all, the music, which played for both comedy and drama: the show choir bursting into Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" remains TV's funniest moment of the year, while the closing "Don't Stop Believin' " was a shot of pure joy.

Everyone’s a little bit racist. And so is Glee.

The odd thing is that Glee is probably among the most racially diverse shows on TV right now. There are 12 kids in the glee club that gives the show its name. By my count, there are seven white kids, two African-Americans, two Asian-Americans and a Hispanic girl. Throw in the fact that one of the white kids is gay and another is in a wheelchair and that’s the kind of line-up that wins tolerance awards, right? (And this doesn’t even take into account a couple more ethnicities represented in the school’s teaching ranks.)

So what's the problem? )

I'm interested to see what everyone has to say outside of bashing Glee (which was done in the other posts).

So I'm pretty sure I'm not spoiling anything when I talk about Us not seeing Glee until April :(...

But I was wondering (and I know no one knows yet) do you guys think they'll continue the storyline directly from where epsiode 13 ends or will they maybe incorporate a timegap into the plot?

What do you guys think/ hope for??

help with tagging please?
